Now that we have had a full season with the new stadium and getting a chance to experience it, which one did you like better? The old Busch or the new one?

I live in AR now, so I have only been to one game in the new stadium. While I enjoyed the stadium and thought it was beautiful/great/all good things, there's no way the feeling I got from it can beat all the memories I have of old busch.

I grew up in St. Louis and went to school in Rolla, so I made it to probably 10 games a year on avg from 1990 - 2005. As I got older, the games became a little more.... how do you say it.... fuzzy. And it was THE PLACE for any event... from birthdays to military send offs to thank god you're back parties to eventually anniversaries to just a night out. I can honestly say, when I think about Busch, that's what I'll remember, and of course trying my darndest to start the wave...running around with my shirt off... not how it looked or how it functioned...

Obviously I voted for Old Busch.

Nothing against the new Busch, but the old Busch will always be home for me.

Personally, I like New Busch. Everybody knows about all the history in old Busch, but the new Busch already has some history as well.

right now, it's still old busch for me. but eventually new busch will take over. it's just a matter of time and a matter of some minor improvements. plus, i got to see a world series winner in new busch. so, maybe i'm talking myself into new busch now. flip flop flip flop

Yea, I mean, I love the new Busch. Great that we won a World Series for our opening season in it. I like how there is more room to walk through the big crowds of idiots who have no clue where they are going. lol, Sorry if I offend anyone but I like getting back to my seat fast to not miss anything. Not ONE bad seat have I sat in this new busch. Even from way up top, I liked the vew, just kinda bad when it was a hit ball in right field for a homer, but that's given. Same with old Busch.

Old Busch had some seats I didn't like for the most part it was great. But seats aren't always amazing. The reason I love old Busch is because I got to watch a great player like Smith and Pujols seasons. I got to see other greats come and go. Matt Morris pitching for us amazing in '01 and 4 other pretty good seasons. I mean he's one of my favorite pitchers to watch. Got to see my first playoff season there, I got to see, um, 2? I think. That I got my first foul ball on my first game when I was like 6 cause I skipped school to go to the game with my dad in K. I saw Rookie of the Year a bit before that and I threw it back remember them telling the kid to throw it back so I did for some reason. And my dad is like, there goes my first foul ball cause he was picking stuff up he dropped as he got the ball. About 2mins later a guy came up and goes, 'Hey little guy did you throw this? You get to keep it.' And he gave it back to me. I mean, that was awsome, to see that people still have a good heart in 'em to me as a kid that reminds me, people have good hearts but (yes I will say this) I think most humans have a tough time doing the right thing. And I dunno, it just ment something to me. I got to meet Smith there in that stadium but I didn't get to get his autograph cause he had to go the radio booth to annouce. I was sad and walked away but my dad stayed in there and goes, 'You can't sign a ball for my son?' and Smith goes, 'I have to go.' My dad said, 'Shame my son really wanted your autograph, cause I did (something that I'm not allowed to say because of privacy rules of my fathers business).' And Smith says, 'Sure, what's your sons name?' I ended up getting his autograph saying, 'Good luck Patrick' and his name since my dad had told him I was a pitcher and loved it. So he came out gave me the ball and said, follow your heart kid. And I was like. wow, I just met Smith... One of the greatest short stops of all time... I mean stunned that my dad got that for me. Watching McGwire break the record for home runs hit in a season. I mean, it has history that I got to watch. It also means something to me. My dream as a kid and was until they built the new Busch was to throw a pitch from that mound in a game in a Cardinal uniform. I also got to talk to one of the pitchers, I forget his name since I was in 5th grade at the time, he stopped, cause we were lined up to sing the National Anthem for the opening. The pitcher stopped and looked at me real hard and says, 'You are pitcher kid?' And all I could do was nod, and he says, 'Well just practice kid, you look like one, just focus and just have fun.' I said thanks and he patted me on the back and said, gotta run kid. lol

Old Busch just holds a lot of memories for me, and I'm sure new Busch will but........ I love old Busch, it's that now I get to dream to pitch from the new Busch but I won't think I'm in new Busch, I'll be in old Busch in memory.

Yep, I think the 'openess' does it for me. I like the enclosed stadiums, and all the games I attended, it just didn't hold the noise as well.

But like someone else said, eventually we'll all like this one down the road. It just has to grow on us.

I went to about 6-7 games this year and i could say that this stadium is awesome..i like it so much better than the old busch mainly because of the view..it was awesome and i could see from mostly anywhere in the stadium which was amazing..plan on getting season tickets sometime in the next 3-6 years and i know it will be totally worth it

I like old Busch better. One of the reasons is b/c the seats go all the way around the park.

New Busch for me. I know about the memories and went to about 400 games in the old one (I even worked there as an usher in 1994), and the Cardinals did a great job of improving it over the years. But I'll always think of it as a member of the multi-purpose "donut-era" class of stadiums of the late 60's.

yeah, the dreaded foul pole. even in it's smaller size, it's still a drag for those folks.
i always laugh at the folks in 129 through 127 cuz my cheap bleacher tickets in 509 are like 50 feet away from them and those tickets are ridiculously high. i'm only laughing at the ones who buy those tickets because they think they are hot s**t buying field box seats

yeah the bleachers in the new busch are nices, i hate people that think they're better than others just cuz they got better seats, i was lucky enough to buy field boxes for the a couple reg season games and nlds and nlcs, mine were ok but the people 4 chairs over were behind the pole

I voted for New Busch. It's just a better stadium.

I do miss the magical atmosphere of the old Busch, though. It really rocked. The way the sound echoed throughout that "big bowl" was unbelievable. I'll always miss that aspect. That, and the brilliant shadows cast from the arches.

Personally I like the new one..There seems to be more room in general and you can feel a breeze when the wind blows..I know there plenty of people that loved the old one. But not living here for that long I have no emotional ties to the old stadium..How ever the old one did have unique look to it.
