I went to a peoria chiefs game tonight, and got Ryne Sandbergs autograph, he was pretty nice, then I met Roger Powell of Illinois from the year they were in the national championship, got his autograph as well, Chiefs won on in the 9th. |

The only way ill step into enemy territory is to watch a Blues or Cardinals win, or a peoria rivermen game but still thats cool meeting Sandberg. I get excited if i see any former Mlb player whether if its Bob Gibson to watch his kid play or Al Hrabosky |

No, Sandberg was a great player, you can't tell me that you have no respect for him. Illinois is where I am from, so that is just natural, I am guessing you like missouri, I have no problems with them, whats wrong with Illinois, why can't we all just hate Kansas? lol |

Oh, Its on, I hate Indiana, we had so many chances to take down that f***ing cheater of sampson, but we didnt because he had gordon, who I might add he stole from us, and then paid him, and got his dad a job. |

I lost most of my respect for IU when they fired Knight. Then, I lost all of it when they hired Sampson......I mean, fire a guy for having a temper and "issues" is wrong in my mind, but whatever.....then a few years later to hire a guy who is a known cheater and has more "issues" is just plain ignorant.... |

All Sampson did was make to many telephone calls, right? That may not be right, but if it is it seems to me that is ridiculous. I know it is against NCAA rules, but come on. You would think he had enough sense not to do it again though after being fired from OU. Go VOLS. |

You don't have to explain, I know all about it, his cheating ass took away Gordon after he had already committed to Illinois. He also gave his dad a job as the film guy, and it is pretty well known that his players are paid. He pretty much took away Illinois future, sure Gordon would have been there only one year, but in that one year the seniors in high school would not have seen Illinois as such a shitty basketball school. Try and tell me that Sampson wasn't a dirty coach, I want to see this. |

What are your sources that tell you Sampson paid his players? I have heard nothing of this. All I heard about was to many phone calls. IU has had a great program, and will be back to greatness in a few years. College Sports goes by the motto if you aint cheating you aint trying. Don't act like the Illini have never broke any NCAA rules. |

So, correct me if I am wrong, but you choose to not believe that a guy that has been fired from two schools for cheating - yes, illegal phone calls are as much against the rules at Indiana as they are at Oklahoma unfortunately for Sampson - paid his players b/c Williamsville didn't post a link while freely admitting you think IL cheats based on, well, nothing. Am I the only one seeing the inconsistency there? EDIT: This is regarding JRod41fan's post asking about Williamsville's sources and further claiming that Illinois has cheated. |

If Sampson really gave Gordon's dad a job, then it is well known Sampson gave Gordon's dad money. However, didn't Bill Self give Sergio McClain's dad a job and he still has it I believe..... could be wrong about how he got the job. |
