I saw him at Buffalo Wild Wings on Olive yesterday. That dude is freakin ripped. He went straight for a corner table in the bar and faced the wall. I wanted to go get his autograph but it was obvious he didn't want to be bothered. Plus my boss was in town along with his boss so it wasn't really the best company to do that with.

That's pretty cool. I always think it's funny to see ballplayers/well known people outside of their profession. Some love the attention while some don't. Obviously Rick doesn't. But, I saw Will Ferrell with Nick Leche (sp?) in Fayetteville, AR one time just walking from bar to bar (when USC was in town to play U of A in football). They were obviously getting a ton of attention....and absolutely loving every minute of it.

It all depends on the type of player. Rick Ankiel isn't the type of player that is an attention whore. It is fine with me but if a player like Terrell Owens gets pissed because people come up to him asking for an autograph, it is different.

Completely understandable for Rick to not be much of the talking kind, which is fine by me. He should be allowed to be himself.

I'm sure it depends on the situation. I'd bet at some places he loves to talk to fans. Others, he probably wants to be with himself.
