How does everybody see everything working to start the season? Here is how I see it. 2B) Schumaker / Thurston (Schu vs righties) 3B) Freese / Mather 1B) Albert CF) Ankiel RF) Ludwick SS) Greene C) Yadi P) LF) Rasmus (Worried it could be Dunc) Starting Rotation: 1) Waino 2) Lohse 3) Carp 4) Wellemeyer 5) Pineiro CL: Tony says Franklin is leading candidate, but I sure hope not. If so we are in trouble. |

Yeah, no kidding. I'm just wondering if they will really keep Greene behind Pujols. |

Ludwick needs to be in the 4 hole. New season same old story. Motte is not near ready. Yeah, sure, he throws hard but has no secondary pitch what so ever. |

He needs work on his change up for sure. And his curve ball, well it's no Wano. |

Yeah guys, batting Greene clean-up really made no sense to me. It's definitely where Ludwick needs to be. I see Greene as more of a 6th or 7th or maybe on this team 8th place kind of hitter. Until he proves something anyway..... |

I'd like to see 1) Ryan / Skip 2) Rasmus (I'd give the kid a chance) 3) Pujols 4) Ludwick / Duncan 5) Ankiel 6) Molina 7) Greene 8) Thurston 9) Pitcher If not Rasmus playing switch up the order a bit. 1) Ryan / Skip 2) Thurston 3) Pujols 4) Ludwick 5) Duncan 6) Ankiel 7) Molina 8) Greene 9) Pitcher Iunno, I'd play with it for the first month of the season. I don't like Ankiel in a 2 spot. He's got too much power but then you are pushing him down in the order because I see Ludwick with a better swing right now. Duncan only to move Ludwick around and Ankiel to drive in Ludwick...? Edited by Carpenterfan207, Apr 8 2009, 04:14 PM.

Just wondering.... what's your reasoning behind having Thurston over Freese or Barden? |

I don't know... I just don't like Barden. Just not a fan. Freese, maybe I just think he's too young. I need to see his swing a bit more. Thurston swing, I like so far. A bit iffy but meh. I'd let Freese play every few games in the beginning of the season to see what he does with his opportunities. I like the kid. Just hope to see more of him before I'd make a final decision as a coach. |

Okie dokie. I got ya. I'm not a big Barden fan either, but I like Freese. I've been pretty impressed by Thurston so far too. He's got good speed, a good glove, a good arm, and good discipline. I'd probably platoon Freese and Thurston a bit. Let one of them win the job. My hopes with Glaus are fading. |

I like Freese and Thurston...Barden is a waste of roster space. We have too many util. infielders with no pop. Bring up Mather as soon as he gets his swing straightened out. |

And glove aside... Wallace looks like he's on the fast track up anyway. |

With that being said, I wouldn't mind seeing Freese more. I did get to see him in his first major league start though. I'm proud of the kid for playing for the home team. See, I just don't know enough about him. I would switch the two in and out and watch his swing more. Just the last couple days I haven't been able to see the games. I missed Carps start cause of work. ![]() EDIT: And I'd like to see Glaus back. I haven't heard too much on him as of lately. Any news someone could post to shed light? Carpfan, last I heard Glaus could be out until around All Star break. Doesn't sound too promising. |
