For most he seems to be the biggest IF of the season for the Cardinals. And let's admit the guy we want back for this year and to stay healthy. Now besides the fact the health issue, I don't see Carpenter struggling too much. Reason being is because we know how much pitching means to this guy. I mean, he's fought and struggled with the decision to either stay in or retire. I think since he made the choice to not retire, he isn't gonna give anyone the satisfaction saying that he doesn't belong back. I think we'll see great things from him yet again. His form is looking too good. As long as he remains healthy... and that's our IF. |

No doubt fellas. Stuff or no stuff, you can't take away the fact that Carpenter just KNOWS how to pitch. His Cy Young was no fluke. That said, HIS STUFF is still there. He looked phenomenal. I really enjoy watching him pitch because of his bull dog approach. There's plenty of guys like Wellemeyer with good stuff, but they don't have the level head and killer instinct of a Chris Carpenter. |

The main thing about carpenter, his mechanics are spot on. I don't see much change from his CY young year. With that said, I think he will have a healthy season. He's worked too hard not to have a good one. |
